Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.

we have a restaurant here that serves corn fritters with their meals. they are about the size of donut holes and truly yummy. so good you could overdose on them very easily.

Corn fritters--yummy!  I live in the south and cornbread or biscuits are served with everything, every meal!  I am not complaining!  Then they bring on the hushpuppies--another corn meal product.  Not like you get at the chain restaurants (LongJohnSilvers, etc) but wonderful golden brown drops of heaven.   I don't have much appetite, but I am making myself very hungry!!

When the Native Americans gave corn to the Pilgrims, they didn't know how much we would do with it!  Corn cakes--one more reason to love corn!  And then we can go in another direction--how about corn chowder?  Yummy on a cold winter's day------with corn bread on the side of course! :rofl;

My wife loves the Chicken corn chowder Campbell's makes...in fact she's eating right now as I right this!  Too funny!  She also so said for quick, easy, and tastey corn bread try Jiffy mix...it's great!

Have never taasted grits either!!  Heard about them on the tv show Beverly Hillbillies.  I am going to try the cornbread. Bet it is good with chili!!

For any of you who don't want to go to the trouble to make it..if you head over to Marie Callendar's for a meal they serve each one with a big slab of cornbread and honey butter.  It's yummy!

Not sure if they still do or not, but Boston Market made those mini loafs of corn bread. Wonder were I can go tomorrow to get some corn bread without having to make it.

Neuropathy in legs age 10

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye

Jiffy cornbread mix...I may have to get some of that to make this weekend!! For hushpuppies, there's a restaurant in Morehead City, NC that makes the absolute BEST!! Serve warm with butter, yummy! Here's their recipe (from www.sanitaryfishmarket.com).

1 lb Fine Corn Meal

1 Egg

1 Tablespoon Salt

1Tablespoon Sugar

Pinch Baking Soda

1 Cup Buttermilk

Stir, adding water, to thick consistency. Drop in deep fat [preferably Duke's Peanut Oil]. Cook in temperature of 375°. Recipe serves six. Enjoy!

KT-  Sanitary is one of my favorite restaurants!  There is no better sea food than theirs and you are sitting right on the water front.  It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive, close enough for a day trip.   There hush puppies melt in your mouth!

paris, I used to live about 20 minutes from there in the winter (45 minutes in th summer, with traffic). I sure miss sitting there watching the sunset and their hushpuppies!!
