jbeany you would have loved the dresses and shorts my Mum used to make for us in Jamaica...our chicken feed bags (from Purina) were made of cotton that had small scale floral or geometric prints...we weren't mad about them but at least she let us choose them sometimes.  Most often though we just ran around in shorts or underwear.

Such a pity they don't still use such easy-to-reuse material for animal food now!

    Old but interesting...

    HEMA is a Dutch department store. The first store opened in 1926 in Amsterdam .
    Now there are 150 stores all over the Netherlands .

    Take a look at HEMA's product page. You can't order anything and it's in Dutch, but just wait a couple of seconds and watch what happens.

    Don't click on any of the items in the picture, just wait and see what happens.

    This company has a sense of humor and a great computer programmer.

 :rofl;  The scan/copy function on mine just died, too!

Here's my latest addiction.  You post books that you don't want anymore.  They go into a wonderfully organized data base, searchable by author, title, genre, etc.  When someone wants one of your books, they request it from you.  When you send it to them, you get one credit per book, and you can request any other book on the site.  At any given time, there are over 4 million books listed.  Anything that you want that isn't currently posted, you can put on a wish list.  It keeps track of wishes in order, so when the book is posted, you move up the line until it's your turn to get a copy.  New releases have really, really long lines, but if you want stuff from a year or two ago, it's a pretty short wait.  You pay for mailing out your books, but the other members pay to mail stuff to you, so it all breaks even.  They have a set up with the post office to print out postage and delivery confirmation if you want to buy it from them for a 40 cent fee.  Then you get credit as soon as the book is mailed, instead of waiting for the other member to mark it received.  You just wrap the book in the typing paper from your printer with the label and postage on it, and drop it in the regular mail.  I'm trading in the bargain books I get from the thrift stores for things from my favorite authors.  They also have connected sites for cds and dvds, so you can trade credits back and forth.

Here is a website that is very interesting website. This dangerous chemical was mention  in another post but here is the link. It does mention that this material is very dangerous to dialysis patients.   :Kit n Stik;
