HI, my name is Tammy and I'm a former dialysis LPN. I have been reading this website for awhile and can sympathize and empathize with most everything written. I have no idea what it feels like to be on dialysis and be at the mercy of the system. IF anyone had questions for me I will answer as promptly as I can.

To answer your question, I am currently unemployed. I was terminated by Davita. It's a very long story, but the jist of it is I was terminated because it was cheaper to pay a tech than an LPN.

Welcome to IHD tmrwalters,
I'm glad you took the time to register here at IHD. We have a few members both employed by Davita and some who no longer work for Davita. Thank you for your service in the renal community. Do you know what you will be doing in the future if anything, as far as work goes?
Can't wait to hear more from you.

Welcome to our community! No need to be nervous. We have a BIG heart here at IHD. We always have place for someone else to join our family, especially someone like you who wants to help. Feel free to post. You can answer questions, and even ask some yourself. Please let us hear from you. There is even a section where employees like you can rant about us patients (!!!) so take advantage of this site. You might even find yourself making some lifelong friends as I have done (right, Goofynina girlfriend?) Here is a hug to welcome you to the IHD family. Bajanne, Moderator

Thank you so much for your warm welcome and I look forward to reading and learning from all you members. I really don't know what area of nursing I will be working in the future. I loved dialysis and really felt it was my niche in life but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Hi Tammy, welcome to ihatedialysis.com. Davita strikes again i see I am just sorry you are out of a job but i hope you find something that pays you what you are worth my friend, anyone in the medical field (that likes their work) deserves so much and gives so little. Well that figures, Davita gets rid of a professional with experience & it's all about money. Sorry to hear that Tammy, but you sure are welcome here.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
