Every patient is a client and every nurse is supposed to be the patient's advocate.
The facility manager must constantly emphasize this in words and practice.
Spot checks, routine inspections, and keeping an open door policey to patients
are a few of the things often neglected. The Facility manager should try to see all
patients on a routine basis. Observe Everything.

Almost sounds to good to be true...I was also wondering what became of this grandiose plan.  In the big scheme of things money is a huge factor.  You need to have money for qualified staff and good equipment.  In this day and age good luck.   I also have a medical background and usually know who to call and ask for and what to say when I call.   I have learned enough from this site to know what to expect when (and if) Jim starts dialysis.   If he has trouble he will walk, no question.
