Thank you all for the birthday wishes -- it was a good day.

I went to school for 1/2 day, taught two classes, left at lunch to go with Marvin for a check-up in Wilmington (an hour away, we have to go once a month to stay in the home hemo program).  Marvin's appointment wasn't until 3, so that gave us time for a nice lunch (J. Michael's Philly Deli in Wilmington, NC -- the BEST cheesesteaks anywhere!!).  Marvin's check-up was fantastic!  All labs are smack-dab in the middle of the "normal" range -- nothing high, nothing low.  The neph said Marvin's labs were the best he had ever seen for any dialysis patient in all the years he's been practicing.  No changes, doc said, keep doing what you're doing.  We drove home, and I took a quick nap.  Marvin's now on the machine and running.  So far, my 46th year is off to a good start!
