As I am tired of trying to get my own name approved (I'm apparently dumber than I realized) and am, in all honesty a "lurker", We are going to say hello together (cute no?). Mostly  she just doesn't want to type and gave me a firm "you do it, make it good".

Her: Jessie 19 years old in ESRD for the second time. She went into renal failure at around seven years old and recieved her first transplant at the age of 12. We lost her kidney (Emma RIP 10/2007) in October of last year, and thanks to said kidney no longer being functional, had a stroke (her fourth) in April. After a speedy and almost full recovery she is a M W F and doing exceptionally well. She is active with our local NKF and just helped make the last Surf Festival a fun and productive one. She has an interest in just about everything except eating right and monitoring liquid intake ::).

Me: I'm T.L.  :waving; faithful companion and nagging partner of a dialysis patient. I spend most of my life hollerin' at the above induhvidual to eat better, stop eating so much cheese, PUT DOWN THE FRENCH FRY and what the heck is she thinking having ANOTHER Mountain Dew?!?! Seriously, if you see her on the boards, throw a shot in about cheddar goldfish NOT being a food group will ya? I need all the help I can get :banghead; She has nefarious designs on my kidney, as she has decided that there is simply no substitute for a kidney as wonderful as mine, so we are waiting for me to get tested so I can "take one for the team" (I complain because I CAN, but I'd pull my kidney out with a spork and a steak knife if it was the only way).

Well, thats not exactly "us", but its enough warning so that the weak can avoid us....MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA...heh, no We are nice people...really >:D

Erm...we lost Emma 10/2006, there was no time travel involved in her kidney failure. :oops;

Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« Reply #4 on: September 29, 2007, 04:52:57 AM »

Welcome to our community!  I can see that you guys will fit right in here with certain crazy people that we have here (call no name, bear no blame, right, Goofynina?)  This community has become a real family and you will find that this site can be a splendid tool in your dealing with your renal challenge.  There is information, entertainment, fun, a place to vent when you need too, and above all, people who REALLY understand what you are going through.  And Jellybean, I am always gratified when spouses and loved ones take the time to join us.  And I was touched at your care for Jessie.  I am as guilty as she is concerning nutrition and liquid intake and paid for it yesterday with excruciating cramps and feeling as if I would pass out.  I too am MWF.
Please continue to post.  We want to know how Jessie is doing - not nosy, just family.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Welcome to the site. It sounds like you will fit right in among the crazies here.  Life on dialysis gives you a different perspective on things.
