In South Florida, I thought I was going to die when I first moved here. My first three months I cried. Everyone talks fast, walks fast, drives fast. No patience, no aloha. It is a sad, sad state of affairs. I just moved to the country up in West Palm Beach and I like it better, more slower pace of life. But of how I miss the big blue pacific and seeing the sunset over the ocean. Do you ever go to the Big Island? I just planted tuberose, I am planning on making leis for my husband and I when we renew our vows someday. We are planning on landscaping our property hawaiian style with lots of plumeria, tea leaves, ginger, coconut, etc. Where in Oahu are you?

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Hello and  :welcomesign;

Quick question what is a CCHT?

okarol is right! :)  In some states, you'd have to be CCHT to work in Dialysis.  Hawaii doesn't require the certification but it does bump up the pay...

Welcome to our community!  We are always pleased when those who work in this service take time to join us and to see things from our perspective.  It is such a sign of caring.  Thank you.  And we even have a section for you where you can bash patients if you want to, and we have our section where we can vice versa!!  Look around the site, answer some questions, ask some and generally feel at home.  We have become a real family here.
I am also an island-dweller.  I am from Barbados and I live in the British Virgin Islands - not as exotic as Hawaii maybe, but very beautiful.

ALOHA!

   :welcomesign;    Glad you are here!  My daughter just moved home after living in Hawaii.  She is really missing everything--food, friends,the beach, the lifestyle.  Looking forward to hearing more from you.  I am sure there is lots you can teach us!

I want to visit Hawaii soooo bad!  I collect all my quarters for what is called my "Hawaii Fund".  My trip to Hawaii is going to be my (and my husbands... God knows he deserves it)  reward post transplant.

Good to have you here!

We do the same thing, and believe it or not, those quarters add up pretty darn quick, we have ours in a large juice can with just a little slit on top (so we cant get the money out) and every now and then we slip in a $5.00 or a $10.00, so i cant wait to see how much we have in it for our Vegas trip.... Lord knows we are going to need all the gas money we can get :)  :bandance;  I hope you do make it to Hawaii Donnia  :2thumbsup;
