Both of my Senators replied, but this was the nicest form letter I received.

Dear Ms. Xxxxxx
Thank you for contacting me to express your support for H.R. 1193, the Kidney Care Quality and Improvement Act of 2007. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts on this important issue.
Kidney disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the United States. Approximately 19 million U.S. adults have some sort of chronic kidney disease which makes this an ever pressing issue. If you or someone you know are suffering with Kidney disease, I would suggest you consult with your physician and refer you to the Center for Disease Control’s website for direction (
www.hhs.gov).
As you may know, H.R. 1193 was introduced by Rep. John Lewis of Georgia on February 27, 2007. Currently, this legislation is under consideration in the House Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees. I understand that you support this legislation because it is composed of many facets that intend to improve the benefits under the Medicare Program for beneficiaries with kidney disease. Please be assured that I will keep your comments in mind should this legislation come to the House floor for a vote.
Again, thank you for sharing your views with me about this issue. Please do not hesitate to contact me whenever you have concerns about any issue under consideration in Congress.
Best Wishes,
Representative J. Gresham Barrett
