Here in Buckeye Country we fans are being screwed it looks like unless things
change soon.  The Big Ten Network has rights to televise the games and they
put it on direct tv. Negotiations with cable provider Time Warner has not
come up with anything yet.  I have Insight cable and so far they don't have it
yet either.  Loyal fans who plan their Saturdays around the games and follow
our team around the country are being cheated out of seeing the games.  What a deal!
Previous years it has been on the local channels, espn or available somewhere.
This year some of the local channels were not even allowed to bit on one.
I know it's all about money but this is a bad thing.  Probably people will have to flock
to sports bars who might have it or someone's home who has direct tv.
I keep thinking the cable cos. will come up with a last minute agreement.
When football season starts Buckeye football is the biggest thing going in this city and suburbs.

Since the Home Theater systems have become more popular Monday night football isn't what it used to be for sports bars and such (any event for that matter).  The bars loose the customers to home viewing and therefore choose not to purchase the packages from TWC or a satellite provider.  Those packages are VERY expensive at a commercial level (charge according to capacity) and that means a loss in revenue for the provider.

So you are right to say it is dollar driven but look at it like this, it's good for the economy.  Go out and support your local sports bar and enjoy yourself.

Yea, in a way it sucks, I agree.  I don't like it when a Carolina Hurricanes game is blacked locally because the arena didn't sell out or something.  Guess I will have to go to a few more games this coming season.  :yahoo;

For fans want to watch the game at home and save a few bucks, it isn't a good new.  I like to spend quality time at home with friends and family members.

As for sports period... living in Iowa SUCKS, b/c they SHOW EVERYTHING from Iowa sports teams... and it disrupts my damn Primetime shows... grrr. They even air WRESTLING from Iowa teams... blah. I personally think there should be a local channel to play these things on and stop overriding my damn Primetime tv shows.

As for your problem Ohio, sorry hun...  :grouphug;

O.B.--- my family is all geared up for OSU games.  They are all huge Buckeye fans and have every Buckeye clothing, jewelry, blankets, chairs, etc.  We know better than to try to visit them on a week end there is a home game!   Hope you get to watch the games.

Ohio Buckeye, we are now the proud owners of an Ohio State U. corn hole game!  Apparently, it is a big yard game up there, but I hadn't heard of it. To me it is a bean bag game!! I guess lots of people play it at tailgating parties.  It was a gift from my brother-in-law who will buy anything with OSU on it!!  Go Bucks1

Paris, I've heard of that game.
Well, Insight, (my cable carrier) came to an agreement with the Big Ten Network
and they are going to carry it and the OSU games.  What a relief!  At the last
minute agreement.  Goes on air this eve.  1st game is Sat.  I imagine the presssure
was great and a lot of people were changing over to direct TV so they gave in.
Time Warner and WOW the other 2 main cable carriers in the area have not
come to an agreement yet.  I am so glad to be able to see the game.  yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The countdown has begun here!

OSU won today but cannot believe Michigan got upset.
What a game!  A blocked field goal with 26 seconds left!
That was the big football news here.
What an opening day!
