Today is our 40th wedding anniversary!!  I am not that old! How did that happen and where did all those years go?  I will say, I was YOUNG when we  got married.  Our four kids planned a lovely surprise party Saturday night.  They had invited family from Ohio, so we were so surprised to see our siblings there, too. Also our best friends.   We opened the door, and the seven grandchildren(9,7,5,5,4,3,&1) shouted Happy Anniversay Nana and Papa.  The room was filled with 40 red roses, table full of wonderful treats, 3 tied cake. They had our original cake topper, wedding pictures -they did a great job.  We have incredible kids. All have good lives, welll adjusted, give back to their community and are raising wonderful children. It was a fun evening and reminded me that in spite of everything, life is really good and I am very fortunate.  Just wanted to share something good for a change!  Wish you all could have been there! My son had enough champayne to serve all of you!    I  joking said that they decided to celebrate our 40th because they didn't think I would make it to our 50th! (you got to have a sense of humor!!!!).

I did everything in a hurry back then.  Started college at 17, married at 19.  I planned the wedding 2 weeks after my 19th birthday!  But, didn't start a family until 22--needed some time to travel, etc. It has been fun--going by way too fast.  Guess I knew I had to get lots done before this kidney thing hit!!   Thanks to all of you for your good wishes.  I came from a split family and think I was always determined to have a good marriage.  I got lucky!! :2thumbsup;
