Regardless of your opinion of DaVita and/or what you think about the people who work there (CEO on down), it's just wrong to take pleasure in something that has the potential to negatively impact 100,000+ patients.    But, I guess that is the only way some find fulfillment in life.

The only thing you're missing is the reasoning behind bioya's pathological obsession with Kent Thiry...which no one really knows. The terms he uses when posting about Kent are quite vulger and graphic so maybe there's a lot more going on with bioya then we can even imagine.

Ever since he started posting on this board, bioya has predicted some impending doom for DaVita. This really picked up after he was shown the door and he left DaVita. Ever since, he and his "network" have been "taking notes and compiling data" for some huge surprise that he keeps talking about but never materializes. All he says is "just wait...just wait..."

I personally think he's just trying to stir the pot so that he can feel he has some important purpose in life. I mean, look at this post of his,

Tell us why a company as grand as Duh-Vita would not be a part of the process to make YOUR techs even better than they already are. I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from a control-freak like you...blaming the company for the individual choices people make. What surprises me more is that this was one of your teammates!!! Each and every one of my teammates knows what's acceptable practice when away from the unit on business and that their job is on the line if they violate those expectations. Apparently, you didn't have the forethought or wisdom to have said conversations with your people. The list of your failures as a DaVita FA just keeps growing. However, more to the point, my understanding is that tighter controls have been put in place for those teammates who come from facilities who don't know how to act because FAs like you who don't know how to explain proper behavior while away from home. And, another important point to make, the hotel runs and controls the bar...they are ultimately responsible for whom they serve.

And, let me ask you this...you say you served in the military as a noncom. Did you ever witness a soldier under the age of 21 drinking? Did you have the hissy-fit you're having now?

Your first question about licensure: As I stated in a previous post - Just because a law is introduced doesn't mean it's a good one. Look at all the laws on the books that started out as good intentions but, after the politicians got a hold of it, it is unrecognizable or no longer addresses the issues initially intended (i.e. HIPPA).

Yes, the idea of licensed techs sounds good on the surface but the devil is in the details. 3/4's of my PCTs are "Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians" (CCHT) through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission...paid for by DaVita. I don't know about the law which you are referring to nor do I claim to know why DaVita would be against it (same with bioya...he thinks he knows but he really doesn't...all he can do is look at it through his anti-duhvita glasses).

I don't know if the law forces units to hire licensed techs...which will make it more difficult to staff units with PCTs because licensing will naturally create a shortage. I for one, would much rather hire PCTs like I already do (98% come to me with no dialysis experience), train them and then send them for certification or licensure. If I were forced to only hire licensed PCTs, I would be up a creek.

For your second idiotic question - You have to have a voice in Congress when the majority of your funding comes from Medicare. You and every other salaried member of DaVita was ASKED to contribute to DaVita's PAC to make sure Congress heard what they needed to hear. Like it or not, the progress that has been made a the federal level is due to the leadership demonstrated by DaVita. You don't think any other companies lobby Congress? You remember all that whining you did about the Congressman who spoke at one of the National meetings? Do you think Congressmen just go anywear or do they visit and listen to the movers and shakers of an industry? And, the great thing about all of this is that the whole dialysis community benefits from DaVita's actions.

It doesn't take a lot of time to refute the nonesense you post...it's quite easy, actually! No "kool-aid" involved in my last post to you...just simple common sense!
