When I was on dialysis I met 3 very good friends in school.  After the graduation, all 3 successfully establish their careers, while I was in and out of the hospital.  I felt depress about the whole thing and lately they have sent me e-mail wanting to get together.  They were awared of my health problem but have no clue of CKD is like.

If I see them, I probably feel awark and have little common things to share with them.  I do want to reconnect with them but what should I share with them or pretend everything is fine and normal in my life.

Any advices greatly appreciate.

I say Go have yourself a good time my friend,  enjoy reminiscing about the good times with them and just take it from there, although it is a major issue in your life, dont let it take over the conversation,  there is time for all that later.  Good luck and let us know how it goes (please) ;)  :popcorn;

You have to remember you are successful at surviving a disease that wreaks havoc on lives.  Go and have some fun with your old friends!

I don't think anyone without a chronic illness will understand what you're going thru.  That doesn't mean you can't have fun and share a friendship with them.  Go and have some fun.

yeah, you should go, if you have the energy to.

one of the only things some of us have left is memories of the good times.

and, it's a good thing to bring awareness to people of what we go thru, i think.

party ON! :beer1; :grouphug; :yahoo; :2thumbsup; :popcorn; :wine;
