Life is great!

« on: June 19, 2007, 04:06:40 PM »

Hey everyone

Taking a break from all the drama and now some fun organising our wedding renewal vows and everyone going to Vegas is invited.  I spoke to the chapel this morning and we are booked in for 8.00pm on October 13 - Sluff said that would be a great time - and we have booked a two-hour reception for afterwards.  We are having the "Pink Cadillac Elvis Wedding" and Eddie Powers is going to perform the wedding ceremony.  According to my media friends here, he is by far the best Elvis impersonator.  We are going to have a reception afterwards with light finger food and an open bar for two hours and a DJ who will be playing as well.  Probably 80's style music.  Probably finish around 11.00pm.  I need to know a final headcount two weeks before the event so if you can let me know if you would like to come, I can get a list together for them.  Absolutely everyone is invited so let me know. For those who can't come they are going to play the wedding on webcam at the time but they are also going to archive it to watch later if you want. Cheers, Cindy. xxxxxx

PS........Goofy and Sluff will be standing up for us.  Going to be a lot of fun!!!!!!

Hi Guys

I am really sorry but we have had to cancel our wedding in Vegas because my neph thinks there is a chance that I will need to start dialysis before October now and hubby and I don't want to risk the $4,000 which is required to be paid now just in case.  We have already paid a non-refundable $1,000 but we would rather lose that than another $3,000 as well.

That said, I wonder if we could transfer the $1,000 ceremony to someone else to use.  It would just be the wedding ceremony and not a reception but if any of you would like to have some fun and renew your vows I can find out if we can transfer it to someone else. We are happy just to let it go but I am also happy to pass it on as a pressie to someone else if you wanted to use it as long as the chapel would agree with it.

Let me know if any of you are interested.  Sluff gets first pickings as he was going to be best man.

Sorry to mess you all around.  Lots of love, Cindy. xxxxxxxx

That is too bad for you. I know you were looking forward to it a lot. Are you coming to Vegas anyway?

cindy, of course you have to make your own decision, but it sounds to me like your neph is saying people on dialysis can't travel, he's full of it. none of use are skipping a treatment to go to vegas. or perhaps he means dialysis will make you too sick to travel. he's still full of it. or maybe people on dialysis don't get to have fun. at any rate i'd be sure and ask him for a specific reason why starting before october should cause you to change your plans. we'll support whatever decision you make, but sure will miss having you there.

Thanks Guys.  Just waiting to get my blood results to see how my creatnine is this week.  If I can go I will go but I just didn't want to pay out a non-refundable $4,000 now for the wedding and then find  out I can't go.  The reason I wouldn't be able to go is that I am doing nocturnal dialysis and if I do have to start in the next month or so I will be doing my training around the time of the trip.  To add to that, it would take about 18 hours to get there and I would be a bit nervous taking on such a long flight just after starting dialysis.  But I promise, if I can get there I will but it looks like one of our mates from here is going to take up the wedding so you will still have a wedding to attend.  Love Cindy

not concerned about the wedding, didn't mean for it to sound like that. but then i have a tendency to open mouth and insert foot, just concerned about you. hopefully you will be able to attend, that's what's important.

My wife and I have been legally separated now for about 3 or 4 years and I think if the transfer works we might just take advantage of Cindy and Paul's generosity. Who else could put up with me anyhow...LOL.

A very generous gift and I do appreciate your thoughtfulness. I will let you all know once it is finalized.
