With or Without You, by U2 (from The Joshua Tree album), is my absolute most favorite song in the world! Although, I totally love anything U2 does. I just hope they tour again sometime before I die as I've never been able to afford to go to one of their concerts until now! They are such a classic band! I also love anything by Duran Duran or INXS. Can you tell I'm an 80's girl?

I love U2 also!!  And that's such an amibiguous song, he may be talking about his girlfriend, wife or even God.  If you've ever read books about them or the lyrics they always say they write them to be that way.  They refer to God in the feminine a lot like Mysterious Ways.  Read some lyrics and you'll see, I am SO into their music, ever since the late 70's when they first came out.  I saw them twice in Continental Arena on the Joshua Tree Tour in 1987 in E Rutherford, NJ and it was AMAZING!!  I even have bootlegs of these two shows!! If you want any U2 links or book recommendations or lyrics just PM me or put it up here.  I think there's a U2 song for all the momemts of my life good and bad.

Donna

Before I had to sell all of my music memorabilia to pay the bills, I used to have almost every book on U2 out there, numerous t-shirts, signed LP's, concert memorabilia (even tho I'd never been to one!), magazines, every LP album, most EP singles (including rarities), every video they ever made on VHS and/or DVD, tapes and CD's. Yes, I was a bit obsessive!  ;D Now I just have a few framed albums, a few books and magazines, every CD out there and all of my videos. I love 'em!!! I wasn't about to part with all of it! oh yeah, and half of the music at my husband and I's wedding was U2.

Karol, that was the song my hubby dedicated to me at my wedding, the Marimba band played it and oh, it was just so beautiful, romantic and awesome,  :2thumbsup;

(with all that is going on in my life, this is one song that helps me keep going)
Louis Armstrong's
What A Wonderful  World

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

(instrumental break)

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin.. how do you do
Theyre really sayin...*spoken*(I ....love....you).

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than Ill never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world.

Oh yeaaaaaaaaaah...........

Great one Goofy!

IFor those days when all the tubes, scars, medications...make me feel not so pretty...and not "normal."

Christina Aguilera - Beautiful

Every day is so wonderful And suddenly, i saw debris
Now and then, I get insecure From all the pain, I'm so ashamed
I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends, you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The piece is gone left the puzzle undone
That's the way it is

You are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down
Don't you bring me down today...

No matter what we do (no matter what we do)
No matter what they say (no matter what they say)
When the sun is shining through
Then the clouds won't stay

And everywhere we go (everywhere we go)
The sun won't always shine (sun won't always shine)
But tomorrow will find a way
All the other times

'cause we are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words won't bring us down, oh no
We are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring us down
Don't you bring me down today

I couldn't get this one to play unfortunately, but it could just be my works computer network blocking it for some reason.  I'll have to try again from home.

I had no issues getting this song to play and I have to say I really like it.  With your permission I would like to copy it to my computer and put it on my MP3 player, and the other one too if it works.

my sister had a similar problem with the first one, too. she re-programmed her media player to 'play protected music' and it was fine.

you are certainly welcome to download and play at your leisure, hawkeye, i'm very happy that you like it that much.

Strawberry Roan Marty Robbins. My own personal super hero/ cowboy used to sing it to me when I was little   :bow;

I was hangin' 'round town, just spendin' my time
Out of a job, not earnin' a dime
A feller steps up and he said, "I suppose
You're a bronc fighter from looks of your clothes."
"You figures me right, I'm a good one." I claim
"Do you happen to have any bad ones to tame?"
Said "He's got one, a bad one to buck
At throwin' good riders, he's had lots of luck."

I gets all het up and I ask what he pays
To ride this old nag for a couple of days
He offered me ten; I said, "I'm your man,
A bronc never lived that I couldn't span."
He said: "Get your saddle, I'll give you a chance"
In his buckboard we hopped and he drives to the ranch
I stayed 'til mornin' and right after chuck
I stepped out to see if this outlaw can buck.

Down in the horse corral standin' alone
Is an old Caballo, a Strawberry Roan
His legs are all spavined, he's got pigeon toes
Little pig eyes and a big Roman nose
Little pin ears that touched at the tip
A big 44 brand was on his left hip
U-necked and old, with a long, lower jaw
I could see with one eye, he's a regular outlaw.

I gets the blinds on 'im and it sure is a fright
Next comes the saddle and I screws it down tight
Then I steps on 'im and I raises the blinds
Get outta the way boys, he's gonna unwind
He sure is a frog-walker, he heaves a big sigh
He only lacks wings, for to be on the fly
He turns his old belly right up to the sun
He sure is a sun-fishin', son-of-a-gun.

He's about the worst bucker I've seen on the range
He'll turn on a Nickel and give you some change
He hits on all fours and goes up on high
Leaves me a spinnin' up there in the sky
I turns over twice and I comes back to earth
I lights in a cussin' the day of his birth
I know there are ponies that I cannot ride
There's some of them left, they haven't all died.

I'll bet all my money, the man ain't alive
That'll stay with Old Strawberry
When he makes his high dive.

THE VISIT (1993)
George Jones

Written by: Gene Ellsworth/Brad Rodgers/Charles Stefl

Sorry I'm so late
But I've been out a-walkin'
Tryin' to find a way to tell you
But I think you already know

I never want to hurt you
Cause darlin' I still love you
But things aren't like they used to be
It's time for lettin' go

I wasn't out there lookin'
But a month ago last Sunday
I met someone just like you
In line at the grocery store

We've been spendin' time together
Yea, she knows all about you
The truth is
She can give me
What you can't anymore

I know I promised you forever
I never thought I'd see this day
If only I could write the pages
Our story wouldn't end this way

I feel so much better
Knowing we could have this moment
But it looks like
It may rain soon
And it's getting' kinda late

Hon' I'll always bring you roses
Every time I come to visit
The caretaker's waiting
They want to close the gate

I know I promised you forever
I never thought I'd see this day
If only I could write the pages
Our story wouldn't end this way
It wouldn't end this way
