I just hope they tour again sometime before I die as I've never been able to afford to go to one of their concerts until now! They are such a classic band! I love U2 also!!  And that's such an amibiguous song, he may be talking about his girlfriend, wife or even God.  If you've ever read books about them or the lyrics they always say they write them to be that way.  They refer to God in the feminine a lot like Mysterious Ways.  Read some lyrics and you'll see, I am SO into their music, ever since the late 70's when they first came out.  I saw them twice in Continental Arena on the Joshua Tree Tour in 1987 in E Rutherford, NJ and it was AMAZING!!  I even have bootlegs of these two shows!!
