Ice cold Hawaiian punch

I had a thought today about being thirsty and having renal failure. When i was eleven i remember being very sick. It was the start of my renal disease. As i lie there having a very high fever my mother came in the room and bought me a tall glass of ice cold Hawaiian punch. Back then in only came in large cans. You needed a pointy can opener to put holes in the top of the can. When they finally took me to the hospital it was the most horrific experience of my life. For whatever the reason every test or ex-ray they took i wasn't allowed any fluid. I remember sitting in a wheelchair after one of these tests and the idiot put me right in front of a water fountain. I was so thirsty i licked the metal that was cold. That night the juice cart came around and i got my Hawaiian punch. It was in a plastic cup but what the hell! I was always a little embarrassed as i grew older having a jones for the juice. Certainly if the boys found out i drank it i would be laughed at beyond my belief. "Hey Keith lets have a few brewskis?" "No, i want my hawaiian punch" i would say under my breath. They still make the stuff and yes i still buy it except now we have plastic and it doesn't taste the same. Now i know we aren't allowed to drink allot of fluid, But i dream of the day when i can down a cold beer again. So for now i will be  satisfied with my hawaiian punch. So do any of you have that secret desire to drink an hawaiian punch??

it does look nice.. I must find me something similar down here and take it down to the sauna so I can drink some without too much (hopefully) bad karma!

I have only been able to find it in Los Angeles.  My hubby gets me a couple cases when he goes down there to work.  He get's it at Ralph's. 

It's excellent over a cup of Sonic ice.

I have checked 3 stores already and asked around and no one has even heard of it     I did however call my sister-in-law that lives in Palmdale, to check her stores for me so i have her on a mission as well, lol,  See Rolando, it aint as easy to just "going to the market"  calls have to be made, people have to be paid, lol,  but i am going to get that damn punch if its the last thing i do dammit *shakes fist*

just made the punch guy my desktop. And Sluff that is all we drink as kids was Grafs soda Grape was the best.

Just a note, this weekend we were in Palmdale and my sister-in-law (bless her heart)   Found me some of this Hawaiian Punch light and it was actually pretty damn good, i am sure my phos. is through the roof, but i really enjoyed it.  Thank you for letting us know it is out there Chicken Little (if only i had brought some home with me)

Yes I to love Hawiaina Punch.....I love the punch with carbonation...Right now I am on a grape soda kick.... I also miss having a beer
