All nice set ups.  Sadly some member are no longer with us.

But On the bottom of page 4 Meinuk put a question out there.  About the tv show she was watching.

Here is our camping set-up. Our sleeping bags are spread out behind the cycler. We move it out of the way after the treatment is over. Otherwise there would be no room to move around. This was our first camping trip and my husband didn't take his big blanket as I advised him. He has a towel around his shoulders trying to stay warm! Live and learn.

That will be great. I have been waiting for someone to post a pic of the Liberty. I am in Australia and have the Sleep Safe. It will be interesting to see if they are similar.

What a great camping set up.  I first learned about NxStage just as it was launched, and had just that kind of set up in mind (I knew that I was going to start dialysis soon, and naively thought I'd be able to buy a NxStage and be on my merry way HAH - did I have a lot to learn!). I never went camping when I was on NxStage, but it is GREAT to know that people are!

Oh, and Paul, you do win.  That was my Sat am treat, put on Stern and listen as I puttered around the house - setting up etc.  I got rid of my cable last October (three weeks before I got my transplant) and have been happily spending all of the money that I have saved on other things.

It's one months supply of manual and one months supply of cycler... since I had just had a delivery last week - there was alot of manual still left.  If they're still here next time - the driver said he will take some back.

Just so I understand, the Liberty if from Fresenius?  And it's a CCPD machine that you use for multiple exchanges during the night?  And you have to provide a stand for it to be on? 

Currently I'm using the Fresenius Newton IQ and I know some people have found the stand to be cumbersome but I actually like the fact that I can roll the cycler off to the side and out of my way.  (I've posted pictures of my setup earlier in this thread but I'm not smart enough to know how to provide a link to my post!) 

What do you do if you travel with the Liberty.  Do you take your stand along or do you assume you'll have something in the motel room you can use? 

No one at my unit has mentioned anything about switching us to the Liberty but I guess I'm just curious in case they do decide to make us change.

It doesn't have to be on a stand, I just wanted it on one because I wanted to be able to move it around.  In hotel rooms I usually put it on a table, chair or the window sill... whatever I can find really.  It's a little difficult but I like it better than the Newton.

Where did you get the cart/table/stand thing you put your Liberty on? I just got my Liberty yesterday, and today I drove all around looking for something similar and didn't find anything.

Hey, I'm sorry I didn't see your question 'til now!  I got the stand at Lowe's - I believe they have it online as well... let me see if I can find a link for you.  If you DO have an Ikea, you would probably be better off going there, price wise (we don't have an Ikea here).

They had the little wooden and plastic pieces that go on top beside the cart at the store.  I don't see it on the website, but maybe check your local Lowes.  Good luck!

Here's mine. Would have been handy to see this thread before i started dialysis to get ideas. But this is what i came up with. Use a drum for drainage. The timber bench is not ideal, but was the top half of a tv unit i already owned.

I'm bumping this so GraceP can have a look at some of the machines different people use.  They're all pretty small eh?  But the reality is that you do have a lot of stuff around your house.  You really can only do home haemo of either kind if you have a bit of spare room.

Yeah, i get a delivery once a month. 35 boxes approx. Lucky i have a spare bedroom for these.

I have heard in some places you can get fortnightly deliveries.

This is our bedroom where my PD cycler lives.  Paul made a big sound proof box for it to sit in.  You can see Mayweed my 18 year old cat investigating - she never normally does that - she was just skiting for the camera ha ha.
