I paid $2.25 for regular today. My sister says it's $1.89 in Wisconsin. But it's too cold there for me!

Hey I have paintings of Budd Lake, NJ - my husband's grandfather was a painter - and that was where he spent his summers.
Off topic, I know. But I have never heard anyone else mention that place!

It was $1.72 a gallon today, $1.73 at BP though, but that's not bad considering BP is usually much higher.

I'm hoping we can individually and collectively resist the urge to drive needlessly or mindlessly or to buy new wasteful gas-guzzling vehicles.  When we have kids at the cottage who want to be hauled around the lake ALL day long, water skiing or tubing, behind the big boat we limit it and encourage more canoeing.  We try to educate them about noise pollution, consideration for others, the wasting of resources, the health benefits of using human muscle power instead of "horsepower", the effects of gasoline and excessive wake on lakes (very detrimental to loons for example).  We have never succumbed to the seadoo which I personally despise.  I was hoping that the high gas prices would have a quietening effect on a couple of neighbours but alas they have more money than good sense and prefer turning cottage life into something like a buzzing mechanical marathon.

There is so much in life that I just don't understand and the issue of waste, just because one can, is right up there.
