My name is Marv Dorn, originally from Saginaw, Michigan and now living in Raleigh, NC. I have been on hemodialysis for just under 3 years in a Davita clinic, about 32 miles from my home. There is a clinic 5 miles away, but my wife's insurance company does not work with them. No problem as I like to drive and I also like to live! I did not have my high blood pressure treated properly the last few years before my kidneys stopped filtering. I was told I had enlarged kidneys when I was young and had yearly IVP's (which probably caused my kidneys to fail that much sooner). I hope to learn here and to also give a little of my experience to the people just starting out on dialysis.

Marv, I welcome a fellow DaVita Village Idiot!    ;D Your experience is welcomed here.  This site has a range of renal patients on it from not yet on dialysis to over 30 years.  Very interesting site.  You will get hooked in no time.

Bolta72,
     My Davita clinic is excellent! I love all my Techs and Nurses. They all work so hard for so little $$.  I hope you like your clinic.

Hey Marv,  Welcome to ihatedialysis.com.  I too, had a dialysis clinic 2 miles away from my home that closed down and we had to travel 30 miles to dialyze, and since i did like to drive it was nice, just sometimes after crashing and then having to drive totally sucked, but now i am on PD so i am at home all the time.  I hope to hear more from you soon...  :2thumbsup;

No problem at my clinic either Marv, all very dedicated and hard workers but it does seem they should be making more for what they do.
