Hi all and hope you all are feeling the best you can .

Started pd in Oct 2018 . Quickly went from death warmed over to feeling better . As time went on I felt even better and doc slowly dropped my sessions from 7 nights to 6 and every few months to 5 , 4 , 3 , 2  . Me feeling amazingly well and getting no Uf drainage to speak of I dropped it to 1 and doc took me off dialysis 3 weeks ago . And while now I don't feel what you would call bad , I had forgotten how queasy your stomach can feel and I certainly wouldn't say I feel amazing but not bad .  Did not want to call clinic but did and they said I was no longer their patient and had to talk to nephrology now , sigh , I feel like an unwanted step child or something now . Went from having 10 people care about me to make an appointment . I was also told that this was possibly temporary , which of course I knew , and when I call Nalco hoping they tell me to do a treatment < probably going to do 1 tomorrow because machine still here and hope I feel better better >I truly got nothing .

But that's the story for now !

Congrats on weaning off dialysis! That rarely happens with hemodialysis-another plug for peritoneal (of course you must have had good residual function to begin with)

Don't hesitate to yell and holler until someone hears you--call your previous nephrologist ASAP and get evaluated. Should be easy to restart since you have the equipment and have the skills to do it.

Best of luck!

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.
