My name is Jeannie. I was born with a congenital birth defect that caused reflux neuropathy.  I'm 59 and NIH told my parents that I wouldn't live to be 13!!  So I am currently 2 weeks in to perotineal dialysis after losing my second transplant after19 years.  I am struggling with dialysis.  Love that I can do it from home but since Christmas lost 30 pounds.  I am extremely weak with no appetite.  I have also hurt my back lifting the 6 liters of fluid from their boxes!  So I'm happy to be here but I too hate dialysis!

Hi Jeannie. Your post resonated with me because I am training now for PD.  It is hard enough to start dialysis. It must be crushing to have to go to dialysis after losing a long-term transplant. Maybe your appetite will return some after you get better established on PD.

All my best wishes for you to be feeling better soon.
