Hi I’m  Kecia I’m 43 years old started dialysis right before my 25 birthday. I have 3 kids who I gave birth to, and 3 kids whom i raised for a time and have been a part of my family since their mom, my best friend died the same year. I’ve been through a lot. Probably should have listen to doctors more concerning my Phosphorus because I wouldn’t be in a rehab facility now with bi lateral hip replacements and being sent out weekly because my catheter has clotted. I’ve exhausted all Catheter placements and I recently received angioplasty in order to place thi last catheter and ended up on a ventilator for 7 days. If I would give advice to anyone take your binders and watch your fluids the scale dot lie. I’m here because after 17 years it’s time I open up realize yes dialysis does suck it’s not a part-time job like I’ve been treating it.

Thank you for joining and for reminding us that looking after ourselves is indeed a full time job.

Hi Kecia,

Every time the comment window opens with the Smileys showing up to insert that is funny.... LOL Anyway Experience by the experienced this dialysis business is more than part time job........... It is very frustrating and no matter how try and make light of it you get frustrated.... Hopefully things will get back onto a level flight plan.

Phosphorous is a pain in the butsky. Take the binder even if you think the food you are eating does not contain a lot of phosphorous. It is a harmless pill and just one more to take.... You just have to pound those Phosphorous levels down  :Kit n Stik;. I had to include one :-)
