I'm with you, K&S. Only time will tell. The distressing situation with our country is the sharp divide in news sources. Some get theirs primarily from Fox, which is banned as a "news" outlet in other countries as it fits the parameters of the definition of propaganda. That so many have fallen for that propaganda is one of the reasons our democracy is now at risk.

I think that foreigners are more interested in US news reports, US political campaigns, etc. than US residents are in the affairs of other countries.  Thanks to the internet, news sources from multiple country are readily available.    How many of you watch BBC online?  I'll bet the percentage is smaller than the percentage of Brits who watch Fox and/or CNN.

I certainly do!  You may not know this, but there IS a BBCAmerica that's included in many basic cable packages, along with news from several other countries   on dedicated networks.

Brits can't watch Fox News on the telly because it is no longer offered for reasons I stated above.  And in Europe, at least, CNN International is offered, but it doesn't focus necessarily on US news except for in the middle of the night, which is when you get the US primetime schedule.  I can't speak for Asia.

An example of different "Truths" - there was a case in the US a while ago (GA) where a homeowner captured two escaped violent convicts.   I knew what I was going to read before I looked at CNN and Fox.   Fox News started off with a headline of "home owner captured escapees" and when right in to how a citizen with a legal AR15 held the subjects at gunpoint for the police.   CNN headlined with "subjects captured", but you had to read deep into the article to read it was an armed citizen, and they (at least in the initial article) left out the bit about the EBR (evil black rifle).   Both articles were absolutely accurate, but the way they chose to headline the article, sequence facts, and what details to include presented each organization's values and spin on the presentation.

First of all, I won't let you get away with claiming that for me, the truth is "Fox is not offered because it is untruthful."  Please show us all where I said that.  You posted without bothering to read what I posted previously.  The truth, and it IS the truth despite the fact that you seem to be particularly fond of quotation marks, is that Sky dropped Fox News because it was not commercially viable.  It just did not have the ratings.  I know because I happened to be in the UK when this was announced in the British media, and I thought it was a bit of interesting news about, well, news.

You have beautifully outlined exactly why Donald Trump is going to tear down this country with the help of his minions.  There is no fact that Donald Trump will not call "fake news" if he decided it doesn't make him look good.  We are talking about more than your love of weaponry, rather, we are talking about how a President of the United States has turned against his own law enforcement agencies who are getting closer and closer to what will be most definitely the "truth", which will be based in fact.

As you rightfully point out, we are ALL susceptible to being mislead by "reports" that support our world view. I try to fact check before posting most of the time, and failed to do so in this case. I watch BBC online. I also tune in to Fox News now and then to see what "interesting" slant they are giving to current events. I don't consider it a reliable news outlet, but it is important to keep abreast of what others are viewing and therefore most likely believing.

The Presidunce argued his point when the National Park Service released crowd shots of the plaza after the inauguration,they release the same shots after each inauguration.  He claimed that there were more people there and the pictures are wrong.  Just like the biggest tax cut in history is clearly the ravings of a deluded mind.
