Hi Melissa,

Welcome to our IHD Family.  We are all seeking to learn more.  We share those bits of information we have learned with everyone that asks.

I take it your Mother is now a Renal Patient and you are trying to understand what went wrong, what you can do to help her, and how can you take steps to prevent this from happening to you later in your life?  Dialisis is a traumatic change in lifestyle, not only for the patient but for everyone else in their immediate Gamily,, all asking themselves these same questions.  IHD is THE place for all to come share and learn.  We look forward to your posts and promise to help all that we can.

Take Care,

I am a renal social worker.  I am happy to help answer questions, but please talk to your clinic social worker for specifics on your particular situation.
