LOL  At 10 a.m. here in Missouri it was very overcast with the clouds almost as low as the tree tops and snowing very lightly those itty bitty little icy particles.  It had done this most of the night bit still wasn't even a quarter inch making the yard and bushes, everything coated white except for the sidewalks and roads which were clear. The ground wasn't really cold enough for it to 'stick'.  By noon it was all gone except for the bushes, they melted off by 3 p.m.

The week end forecasted 2 to 5 inches but it wasn't to begin until late Saturday afternoon.  I guess Mother Nature didn't get the memo and sent this a day early.

New Jersey just had the same thing happen on Monday night into tuesday the real shocker is that they are calling for 8 inchs of snow Monday night into Wednesday morning.o

Here in Sunny California, it is 93 degrees!!!! Not gloating, we dont like it either. Well, the women dont, because they cant figure out what to wear!!!

One of my favorite business trips was to Ft. Lauderdale one week in march during the 80's.  I went down to vist a customer site, no one on my team liked to travel so I went.  Also got 4 trips a year to Disney world.  One morning that week I had concluded my work at the customer site so I went back to my hotel room to work.  Went out on my porch overlook the beach and a marina and joined a conference call about upcoming work.  During the call someone from Jersey started complaining about a real life blizzard, high winds and two feet of snow.  Some one asked how was it where I was. I made the mistake of telling them.  I never heard such cursing in my 34 years at AT&T.  Funny thing is I would rather have been home in Jersey cause during that period I was traveling two weeks a month.

This article by Andrew Sullivan is a good Sunday read - that goes right to the point "What can we agree on?"

It makes the point that both what use to be called, the left and the right have contingents that see the world as a zero sum power struggle where there are no facts. A world where we are entering:

a vortex where reality itself must subordinate itself to one political side; where facts are always instruments of power and nothing else; where our entire Constitution, designed to balance power against power to give truth and reason a chance, is being deliberately corroded from within. It’s been seven weeks. And the damage done to our way of life is already deep, and deepening.

I think we can all agree that it's a real pleasure to sit on your front porch and feel the sunshine on your face.  I was able to do that today (my sweet dog blinking with pure doggy joy) and it renewed my sense of gratitude.  I felt so content to listen to the wind in the trees and just be.

I hope all of you have a place to sit and be happy and not worry, even if it's just for a little while.

It's snowing on my porch again. 

Weatherman last week said snow Saturday, it came Friday instead.  Warmed and gone Saturday, back again Monday.

How does he manage to keep his job being wrong so often?

He's lucky I ain't the station manager, we would have had a long talk already.

I think we can all agree that while dialysis keeps patients alive, it SUCKS!!

We are going to get lots of rain which will melt the snow in the mountains a little too fast.  We had a nice day yesterday.  It was a nice break and a peek into Spring.  Looking forward to summer and 85 degrees.  Oh, wait that means I'll have to get the chain saw out and shave my legs.

Kittens are equally relaxing.  The combination of a dog and a cat gives us the best of BOTH worlds.

This leads me to the only thing I know Rush Limbaugh said I fully agree with
Dogs have owners,
Cats have staff.

My wife loves cats, thank god I love animals, however week have a Agean cat that's about 2 years now I rescued him in a snow storm when he was about 5 weeks.  The darn cat plays fetch just like a dog throw a fuzzy toy he runs hunts it down, and does it at your feet for another round.

I can understand the appeal of a kitten as they are awfully cute from across the room.  However, since DH and I are both allergic, viewing cat videos on YouTube/Facebook is about as far as I go.   

Now dogs on the other hand....we had a border collie/cattledog mix for 13 years.  That dog was Einstein in fur.  We now have a purebred beagle who is as dumb as a box of rocks but keeps the yard critter-free.  We wanted a cuddler when we got our second dog and Clark is a stage five clinger.  However, it comes with a complete lack of brain power unless the task at hand has to do with hunting.

I think my Min Pin is really smart, but plays dumb.  I throw a ping pong ball down the hall and she races to get it and then hides it under the bed.  Then afters she has six or so I get the flashlight and head to the bedroom and she races ahead of me to try and save them all from me.  I get a few and we start over.

Then company comes.  I throw her ping pong ball to show them how cute she is... She just stares at me.  I go to get it and she doesn't move a muscle.  Acts like she has NO IDEA what I'm doing.  BRAT!

We had a cat that would take a ping pong ball to the area by our front door.  It was closed in on 3 sides, front door, wall, closet door. He would hit the ball it ounces out and hit hit it again and the Ball kept going faster and faste I saw him do it for 10 minutes one day.

I am pretty sure there are 'hairless'' breeds of both dogs and cats.  Perfect for those allergy prone people.  The big drawback is the pets sure looks different totally hairless, naked!
