Hi sweet people, yesterday I received antibiotics Flucloxacillin for a fistula infection. And as my potassium was 6.2 I had to dialyse today. After a painful, but normal start (I'd given myself normal dose Tinzaparin, I noticed my blood was black in the lines. No alarms, but I took myself of anyway.
Primed a new cartridge and put myself on again, turned dark again after about an hour, this time gave myself some more Tinzaparin.

Still red now, but wondered if anyone has had the same.

In the poss side effects says neutropenia (reduced white bloodcells) and thrombocythopenia (low platelets) but nothing about bloodclotting or something like that.

Thanx already, love, Cas

Sorry to hear about the infection, Cass. Glad you're not in the hospital. Sounds like you caught it in time and are toughing it out at home. Hope someone comes along soon that can answer your question about Flucloxacillan.

Here's to a speedy recovery!  :beer1;

Thanx PT, no-one in hosp thought  the clotting would have anything to do with the antibiotics. So the paid people and me agreed on keeping the increased amount of Tinzaparine. (I'm not even going to repeat the idiotic explanations they came up with...)

Love, luck and strength, Cas
