Hello friends,
I finally started dialysis May 16.  couldn't take the throwing up in the mornings and not being able to breathe any longer.  GFR was 9.
Still working...thankful that my boss let's me leave before 5pm to get to the center.
On the list 2 years and 2 months - hopeful, with all the changes...that a kidney will come soon.
Happy Friday!!!  God bless all of you ..this is a good sight full of great info.

Welcome to the site, if you are doing fine during the first month that's a good sign.  The beginning for most people is the roughest.  I hope you get you transplant sooner then later.

:welcomesign; Welcome, Butterfly 7! Hope all continues to go more smoothly for you from here on-out! Because of your family history it sounds like you are prepared and have a good attitude. You probably amaze the people at your center, keep it up!

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.

Welcome to the site Butterfly.

Sorry you had to be here. IMHO ... it gets easier as it goes along. Once the routine kicks it.

Good Luck
