Did you have an echo before your transplant? The last echo was done about 2 years ago.

Yes I had an echocardiogram before my transplant. I also had a stress test--I was/am over 65 so don't know what tests are age related.

Not only an echocardiogram, but because I'd had type 1 diabetes for 40 years, I had to have a full blown angiogram. Worked out well for me though, as I needed 2 stents. Both done prior to the transplant.

Think an echocardiogram and stress test (chemical or walking) is pretty standard for all transplant recipients. That along with numerous blood draws, etc.

Yes, but those who are called in because a cadaver organ become suddenly available rely on their most recent echo/stress without getting a current one just before the xplant.

My echo was almost a year old when I got my kidney from my husband. I am not sure how they handle the cadaver kidney transplants. Like Simon dog said, they call you in and use your most recent one. My younger brother received a cadaver kidney after being on the list for 5 years. The only tests he had to update annually were blood tests and dental clearance. Maybe it varies center to center?

Yes, they generally do an echo, stress test, & EKG before transplant and you must pass all 3 before you're approved for transplant.
