This poem wrote itself the other night in my head and had to get out onto paper.

Endings

Standing on the bluff overlooking
The spot where your ashes disappeared as
The last of you left me alone forever.

I cry a demand for you to come back.
I feel your spirit with me,
However it is not the same.

I miss your touch, your kiss,
Your backrubs at night.
The silly talks we had a midnight
As we settled down, ending our day.

Some nights I wait for you
To come to bed with me.
But then I remember you are not here.

I will only have a chance to scream I love you
To the universe and hope you hear me.
I can only hang on to what I know.

What I know is I talk to your spirit each day.
I wake up with “good morning” on my lips
Unitl I remember there is no one there.
I say it anyway.
I say “good night” each midnight.
Ending my day with thoughts of you.

I can only hope your spirit is intertwined with mine
And you have not really left me here alone.

Beautiful, Kitz...

Will you post the one you wrote in tribute to Mum, please???...

It was so reflective of her... I think others will be as impressed by it as I am!!!...

Per Carolyn's request:

Elsie

She was quite a character
A strong-willed woman
A mind of her own.

Carolynn would drag her over to the computer to say hello
Skype must have seemed a miracle to her
To greet someone thousands of miles away
There were gifts sent from across the sea
With jelly beans and always something pink
A T-shirt or a hat, just so it was colored puke (pink)
Elsie got a kick out of it all
Laughter and giggles
Or as she might have said
Its all shits and giggles till someone shits

She loved her Dougal dog
She was the one who spoiled him
Bossed Carolynn around to walk the dog and feed him
Her daughter claims Elsie treated him better than her
He was as another son, a four footed one

Death is never kind to anyone
Elsie took it, too, on her own terms.
She decided when she would finally have her last breath
She proved she was stronger than she looked at times
Carolyn watched her Mum pass with dignity

Here is to Elsie
May memories of others carry her forever.

a passed soul, in poetic words,
Aye, when that urge arrives, best to not deny,
words that cause cry, words that carry memories,
words reliving those memories,
sad, but true, but be not blue,
I am,
this moment,
smiling with you.

Be Well

"Wabi-sabi nurtures the authentic by acknowledging three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect."

Don't ever give up hope, expect a miracle, pray as if you were going to die the next moment in time, but live life as if you were going to live forever."

A wise man once said, "Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."

Who can hear the birds sing in the tree,
only me.
Who can hear the wind rattle the leaves of the tree
only me
Who can hear the child of the refugee
only me
The dirty air is killing the sea
or is it me
War is killing all we see
Will it kill little old me?

Gerald, that was terrible.  Yep,I know.  Shoulda paid attention in that Humanities class.
