Haven't been around for awhile

It has been a very difficult 7 months for us. On December 10 hubby's mom passed away. She had dementia and had been in a nursing home for over 4 years but it was still difficult to lose her. Hubby's sister ( only the 2 of them in the family) got sick after Christmas. She was feeling miserable with really bad headaches, tired and no appetite. She lost 38 lbs in one month!! She went to the doctor in March and had a CT scan done of her head. She got the report on April 7 and she had cancer in bones in her head and neck. After several more tests and a biopsy it was discovered that it had started in her lung and spread to her liver and bones. At that point treatments weren't an option and the plan was to try to control the pain and make her as comfortable as possible. She did not have one day after that pain free and on June 18th she passed away. Hubby was still grieving his mom when all this happened. Living just on the next street to her we were sort of the main caregivers along with her daughter in law. She had one son who worked away from home and one 44 year old daughter who is developmentally delayed. It has been and still is a very stressful time. We are now dealing with her husband who was in total denial of her sickness.

I'm so sorry to hear about all of these challenges, del. Sometimes life just sucks eggs.
