I don't know who has seen/heard about this story but is utterly disgusting.  No.  Not the fact that these brave, talented men received an award for their achievements and contributions to America and it's people, but for the fact that our government (Bush Administration) is so shitty that that these brave souls that gave so much, receive an award that they are supposed to share?

One, I repeat ONE, Congressional Gold Medal was awarded at ceremony on Capital Hill for these men.  If any of the men would like to have a copy of their medal (duh..who doesn't) they can buy a replicate medal for them to own.  I'm sorry but, what kind of shit is that?  Sure, lets spend BILLIONS of dollars on a war and meanwhile have some of our most respected servicemen, who earned a long overdue commendation for their contributions, PAY for their medal.  How much is the medal you might ask, well hold on to your pants......$40.  Yep, forty bucks.  Why....why did someone not pay for these things for these men?  How insulting to make them purchase one for themselves.  I don't know how else to describe it..........F@#@ing disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Someone stepped up and bought them the medals they deserved but that should never have been the case.  I can't think of a more appropriate way to spend some tax dollars that to award the men and women who have served our country in the military.  Bless them all.

That is not right! These men gave their lives to our country and never lost an aircraft they escorted during WWII. How can we treat them so poorly?

I'm with you on this one George.  :thumbup; Thats the way it has always been look at Walter Reed, look at the dwindling benefits for Veterans. It's a trend that needs to be stopped.

These men gave their lives to our country and never lost an aircraft they escorted during WWII.

And they returned to a country with Jim Crow laws and segregation.         :'(

WTF?  There should be a big public outcry on this one - what on earth can the Prez be thinking?  I didn't realize they didn't each get a medal - how completely ridiculous!  I'm outraged! :thumbdown;
