Hello everyone!!!! I'm Fattie dialysis patient since November 2013.
Last 2011, I was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy and took lot of medicine to slow down the damage of my kidneys. When my kidneys can no longer do its job the doctor gave us the option to do dialysis or tansplant. Me and my family chose the dialysis for we cannot afford the cost of kidney transplant. Am having dialysis two times a week (Wednesday and Saturday). There is no active forum regarding dialysis in our country so I joined here. I hope to meet positive people here and learn more from you guys.
Thank you so much..

Welcome, Fattie! You will find this site to be very helpful, whatever your concerns or questions are. Your pen name made me laugh (I think). I won't ask...

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.

Hi Fattie,
I've read in the newspapers that PhilHealth insurance will already include kidney transplant in it's coverage.
I would advise you to try to contact them.
Most of the time, young patients are easily approved for the transplant procedure.
