For all those unable to partake in chocolate (high potassium) eggs ...
what gift have you received instead?

I got a really wonderful bunch of flowers (all in white and cream) which look lovely on my hall table... Happy Easter   :flower;  :flower;  :flower;

Difficult times with a femoral line and catching MSSA (Thank you Plymouth Hospital)
Back on HD (not easy to do that third time around)
Fighting hard (two years on) to do home HD ... watch this space!
Oh and I am am getting married 1/08/15 to my wonderful partner Drew!!!

I ordered myself lots of clearance cloth from lots of shops online. For our next holiday in Rotterdam (2 days) and in Portugal (14 days). Perfect timing as I was heading for a bit of a down period again.
Hubby and me don't do Easter anymore, but I'll see my own 'presents' as gifts, and will enjoy them as Easter gifts  :angel;

I'm hoping to make a mini skirt (pink and lined with a split at the back) and soft black stretchy cotten to enlarge a shirt I received for my birthday. (Now I keep telling people to NEVER buy me cloth, but ....)
Never done it before, but as my 'big' fistula arm doesn't fit in the sleeve   ;D.  And my Prednisolon  trunk isn't camouflaged enough, I want to sew a strip from the tip of the wrist all the way to the bottom of the shirt (at the side of the trunk, and the bottom of the sleeve, some kind of go-faster stripe) the plan is to make it a swing shirt.

I received perfume, a blouse and a new rosary.  I would have much preferred the brunch every one seemed to enjoy though!  ::)  Orthodox Easter is next Sunday so maybe that side of the family will be more careful preparing a "me-friendly" brunch then! 

Hope it was a good holiday.

On the Continent is is mainly meant for children, that an "Easter-bunny" brings them little presents,
like wonderfully decorated and painted easter-eggs, which are usually presented in a green little Easter-nest...

Kristina, we have the same tradition here in the US.  Children participate in Easter egg hunts, and most of the time these "eggs" are plastic and contain little gifts inside.  Once discovered, the children put them in their green "grass" lined Easter baskets.

I've never been aware, however, of any tradition in which adults get Easter gifts, but that doesn't mean that such a practice doesn't exist.

I attended an exhibition of Faberge eggs in the City back in the late 1980s, and it was spectacular!  It sure wasn't at the Palace, though!  Aren't they remarkable??

I highly suggest the Fabergé Museum in Shuvalov Palace in St. Petersburg.  Did you know Fabergé has come out with a new Pearl Egg?  I'll keep dreaming and drooling about it.  ::) :'( :embarassed:

I do have an egg pendant made by Fabergé so I like to pretend in my own little world I have an egg.  Yeah, I'll keep on dreaming here too.  :waiting;

I am also dreaming ... Please tell me, is the Fabergé-Museum directly linked to the Hermitage?
I don't remember studying Fabergé-eggs at my visit ... but there again, it is such a huge museum (almost overwhelming)
with some of the most important paintings, but it still would be a pity if I would have missed seeing Fabergé's exquisite work there ...

Nothing but been eating the kids' eggs does that count lol. Oh actually hubby  got me my fave cadburys mini eggs which are so nice I can't stop eating them!! Do u get them in the US?

Best pressie for me tho was tx clinic appointment on Tues which showed everything so good and stable they dont wanna see me for 4 months (longest I've been between appointments since tx almost 3 years ago).

Not really an easter pressie, but hubby and I are off to barcelona Mon to fri , he booked it as a surprise for our 10th wedding anniversary (which is actually in the summer but he knew would be too hot for me then!) My parents are having the kids! So I'm looking forward to that but also a bit nervous as first time flying since the first the tx (know I'm being stupid, my doc told me to have fun and was telling me bout all the things to do there lol). Also hoping we can come home OK as the french air traffic controllers are planning strikes again!

My mom got me some Jolly Rancher jelly beans, some gummy bunnies and duckies, some Reese peanut butter eggs (my favorite) a Cadbury cream egg (they're smaller this year, I feel ripped off), and a few Frozen themeed Kinder eggs

Easter and Christmas are the only times of the year I eat chocolate... unless I'm in the US.. then I get a taste of Americone Dream ice cream..

I don't care for the Cadbury mini eggs... but then, I don't care for my chocolate to be tainted with a candy coating.. *L*

We were out at a local country show yesterday and in the food tent they had two massive chocolate fountains (one white choc and one milk choc) and a huge array of strawberries and marshmallows
waiting to be dipped... Smell was wonderful... but I did not partake sadly  :waving;
Potassium and more potassium !!! cept the marshmallows...

I guess I'm just lucky that my levels are all in normal range, so I can have a little treat here and there and it doesn't really affect me... Also, binders have been my Godsend when it comes to phosphorus....
