Hi, First I will explain my nic, Phurball is what I call my oldest sister's 15 year old cat. Her real name is Milly.  I inherited her from my sis who passed away in dec. 2005 from kidney desease. Now my doc tells me I am approx. 6 mos. to a year away from dialysis myself.  And to top that off, we discovered about 8 weeks ago that my youngest grandson (25) has CRD and was put on dialysis immediately.  My beloved husband of 30 years passed away 8 mos. before my sister died from a stroke.

I promise you that I am NOT a nut or BASKET case LOL.

I have been searching for an outlet for all my fears and answers to all my questions.  It appears I may have found it.

At this point, I have no care partner, so guess what ?  I think you guys are stuck with me.

Thanks for hearing my story.

Just call me ~ Cee

Welcome Phurball,

You are not a nut or a basket case but being on or near dialysis certainly gives us alot of latitude when it comes to crazy.  You'll find lots of good information and support here.  Questions that can't be answered elsewhere will be answered here.  Patients themselves are alot more in tune with what this disease feels like than anyone who might be sitting on the sidelines or who learned about ESRD in a book.

Please post your concerns and questions and add to those of others.

Welcome!

Aww Cee, Even if you were a nut case you wouldn't be any nuttier than goofynina. We let her stay here.

Welcome to IHD. I hope we can provide an outlet for you to speak your mind and gain knowledge about ESRD, and dialysis. Our founder (Epoman) just passed away on March 2nd of this year and when he started this site he said everyone was welcome and could voice their opinions, and vent, in his words " a website for patients by patients".

We are keeping his vision alive for people like you, You will fit right in here at IHD.

Welcome to our community!  What took you so long!  We are so happy to have you with us.  I can see that you will just fit in.  This website has developed into a caring and sharing community.  This is the place to be when you want to vent and/or rant.  Here is a group of people who TRULY understand what you are going through.
I hope you don't have to have the dialysis too soon, but even if you do, this is a good place to prepare yourself.  I came upon this site the month before I started diaysis and it is impossible for me to quantify how I was helped.
Here is a group hug from all of us -  :grouphug;

Life's a bitch and then you go on dialysis!

« Reply #18 on: March 29, 2007, 04:39:28 AM »

:welcomesign; Sounds like you've had some rotten luck recently. You have found a great website where you will get lots of support. You'll find all you need to know about the different methods of dialysis when the time comes. Lets hope it's later rather than sooner.
Take Care.

Welcome to the site.  We are good listeners and like to hear a good tale.  Ask questions, rant or just talk.
