I got my cycler last Tuesday.  The first two nights were OK, although fraught with alarms.  Since then I haven't been draining well, negative UF, and the sounds the machine makes have changed.  It sounds like it's priming the lines all night, it never stops, even during dwell times.  So yesterday Baxter tells me they are going to send out a new machine.  I get it today, fire it up and it has an error code.  I call Baxter and they tell me they'll send another out.  :-\ My confidence isn't high at this point.  I'm a low transporter, so I can stay on CAPD, but I don't really want to.  How reliable are these machines?

Hi Chicken Little,

I am sorry to hear you are having sooo many problems with your cycler. I am on Fresenius Sleep safe. The very first machine I had didn't get past turning it on before I had to request a new one. Luckily it was during my home training. A new machine arrived the next day and has worked great ever since. (I would like to see them try to take it  >:D) I have had a few alarms that I have had to ring the 24hr helpline with but I have managed to work through them and degas the machine back to perfect. I have read the manual back to front and now know the machine very well. I have had the machine for over a year now. I do a manual exchange during the day and three dwells over night. I was on CAPD for six months before I got my cycler and I would really hate to return it that. I felt it took over my life and gave me no freedom at all. I am much happier on the cycler. I really hope you can nut through the problems and get it running smoothly.

Baxter brought in another one today and no error code, so far. :2thumbsup;  Don't know when I'm going to test it though because I'm not draining.   Last night was horrible.  I couldn't drain and swelled up 15 pounds over my dry weight.  It was ALL in my lower tummy, which now has STRETCH MARKS!!!!  It hurt so bad.  I'm going into the the PD clinic so they can try to flush my catheter.  I hope it doesn't hurt.  I've had enough hurting in the last 24 hours.

  What horrid luck!  I have had the same Baxter since the beginning, 2 years in June.  (It got a 1 month vacation when they had me try Fresenius...)   Can't believe the cycler caused the tear, sure hope that is not the case!!!

How did it go?  I hope it was successful and didn't hurt.  My thoughts are with you. :cuddle;
