I was coming into work today and we have to cross a very dangerous causeway to get to the town where I work and it was white out conditions and to make a long story short we were involved in a 20 car pileup  Hubbie and I are ok , car is toast (I think) Here is a pic of the causeway ( this is summer, where there is water in this pic, there was snow today Kim |

Kim What a lovely road to have to take on a daily basis in any bad weather situation. I hope you both are still feeling ok tomarrow if your car is in that bad of shape. Sometimes it takes a day or two for it to kick in. Good luck with either getting your car repaired or finding a new one whichever the case may be. |

It's great to hear that you are OK. I am sure that someone has already said that the "car can be replaced" but it is true . The number one thing is that you are still with us. Keep us up to date on how things turn out.

I'm also glad you are okay. If I saw that picture, without your explanation, I would immediately assume it was photoshopped - I find it hard to believe such a dangerous road could be so regularly used - the very sight of it makes me shudder!

Glad you're fine, sorry about the car ... I have a question.
A twenty car pile-up! How does insurance (blame) sort out? I've heard of pile-ups involving hundreds of cars and I've wondered- is it all the fault of the first car or is each collision looked at separately? Or is it each driver for themselves - a no fault situation?

Whew, looks like you and hubby averted what could have been very serious! The picture sure explains a lot! Suppose you will be terribly sore for the next few days, so best take it easy, if you can. Certainly glad you weren't badly hurt!

Thanks everyone for the concern, first off no George I didn't shoot the pic, it was taken from the Coast Guard building at the bridge side . A twenty car pile-up! How does insurance (blame) sort out? I am not to sure yet , I have to call my insurance guy back today, the RCMP didn't want to know the details about who hit who, he just wanted to get us all off the dang thing. Kim What that picture looks like to me is that you drive across a breakway every day. No wonder the road conditions are horrid. Must be slick as snot on a doorknob during the winter too since you are surrounded by water, anything on the road would freeze. |

One side of the causeway is ice and the other side is water (not frozen) and now with the March winds all the snow that fell on the ice all winter blows like crazy. There should be a wind fence up and that would cure it, but we are a VERY popular tourest destination, and wind fences are ugly , blah blah blah. The causeway is reduced to one lane escorted traffic today so I am not going to my dialysis, I can't bare to cross it so soon after the accident on such a bad day. My car is a total right? write? off and one piece of great news is that my car insurance had a clause in is that stated that I get what I paid for the car.. as in what it states on my receipt, I didn't even know of such a thing, so money wise it will be OK  Kim |
