Today I got stuck in an elevator.....

It finally happened.  I've been riding these elevators several times a week for 4 months.  They are slow, creak, and sometimes it feels like the doors will never open.  Well today I got on and it wouldn't go up, and the door wouldn't open!  We had to call the maintenance crew to come pry us out lol.

How long til they came and got you out?

That could be freaky if it was late at night, stormy outside, lightning, etc........

I don't get far with these legs, but after a situation like that I may be tempted to start taking the stairs, if it wasn't but a couple of floors.

Lord knows that I need the exercise.

I wonder if this is one of the things that has to happen to everyone once. It happened to me many years ago. I started work at 6:30am and was on the elevator by myself. Although someone answered the emergency button I was in there for an hour and a half before they got me out. I was never late for work and my co-worker called my house to check on me (pre-cell phone days) and my husband was home getting the kids off to school and freaked. People were pretty worried about me. Why I didn't ask the voice on the other side of the intercom to call someone and let them know where I was, I don't know. The building management was very apologetic and sent me flowers (gladiolas though and the scent reminds me of funerals) and candy. At least it's a day in my life I'll always remember. How many other people were on the elevator?

There were two other lovely ladies in there with me. We weren't in there long. 15, maybe 20 minutes max. The crew got there fast , and since we never left the floor we were on it was just a matter of prying the doors open.
