I wanted to share a short story I wrote about the importance of donating to local Kidney Foundations.

An eye-opening story, pagandialysis. I know this is off topic but similiar in how important such events can be to some people. For instance, my mother didn't learn that she had congestive heart failure until she happened to be working to help set up a healthcare convention. By mid-morning, she was sick and feeling weak. A nurse attending the convention checked her heartbeat, blood pressure and her blood sugar and sure enough, they were out of whack. Rushed her to a doctor who performed an EKG. She had suffered a "silent heart attack". By that week, she met with a wonderful Cardiologist and spent the next several years enjoying better health.

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.
