Hello, I'm 23 and I have IgA. I have been on dialysis over a year, started when I was 22. I hope to make friends here who can understand what I am going through.

Hi Koako, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  Where are you from?  I had to start dialysis when I was 24 and now I'm 53... not sure if that is good news or bad news.  LOL

This is a great place to be and there are "kids" your age.  I hope you are on a transplant list...

My husband is pretty young too.  Only 33.  He does PD and is doing really well.

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband,  He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go.
He had a transplant in November 2019.

More information about me: I'm from Kansas and I just got on the transplant list late January of this year.

Rerun-wow, you've been doing dialysis for a long time. I think that's what scares me the most. It's knowing that this disease is never going away. It is something I will have to live with forever  :'(

Welcome. What kind of dialysis are you on? What can you tell us about your experiences on dialysis? WE are here to listen and help.

I'm on In-Center Hemo. My experience has been a whirlwind. It all started when I checked my blood pressure. It was very high but I didn't think anything of it. However the high BP lasted for a few weeks and my mom got worried. So I went to check it out at the Drs. Next thing I know, I get a phone call a couple weeks later, telling me I have Freaking Kidney Failure. I go to the hospital and immediately get a cathter put in and Bam! I start dialysis and have been living with dialysis ever since.
