10 years on and off dialysis

« on: March 24, 2014, 09:18:33 AM »

Does anybody have an experience of these?
My eldest daughter lives in France and had one implanted a year ago from Montpellier Hospital in France, which sadly has stopped working.
I understand about only 400 people have them so difficult to find out much about other people's experience with them.
Like, how common is it for them to go wrong? Does the catheter get blocked easily? If they replace the pump (requiring a whole new operation in same place)
is it likely to go wrong again? How likely is rejection of a foreign object?
