I'm glad Hero Dad is doing so well.  I hope the meds do the trick and he can avoid the bypass.

Thanks guys!!

His cardio nurse called him the other day to say he is on the list for the bypass tho, so we'll see, he's waiting to see his cardiologist hasnt got appointment yet so cant be that urgent!!

I'm having bloods drawn this tuesday and then tx appointment the following tuesday so will see what docs say bout dad and if they think im at risk if it could be genetic (which has been mentioned, but my gp said not the case xx

1982 - born with one imperfect kidney and no bladder, parents told i would not survive
1984 - urostomy op
1990 - bladder built out of colon
2007 - birth of son, gfr fall from 3O to 26
July2011 - birth of prem daughter, gfr 17%
August2011 - gfr drop to 10%
29th May2012 - RECEIVED KIDNEY 4/6 match from my wonderful dad !

Dad has a date through for his bypass op, will be the 1st of May, and he'll be in the night before. (subject to change of course if they get any more emergency or urgent cases!)
He has all the pre op assessment stuff for a day on the 20th april, he wont be looking for to it as he'll remember how boring that was for the tx lol!
