I'm having to do CAPD this weekend to preserve my cycler bags until I get some more from Baxter.  I've noticed that my appetite has really dwindled.  It also seems like this fluid in my abdomen all day makes me get full very quickly.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I hear you......, but just eat your protein first.  I make a smoothie with 6-7 ice cubes, Nepro, whey powder and  strawberries in the blender.  I keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge to snack on too.  It's easy to peel an egg and eat it that to make something else and it's a good protein

I do "share" the yolks with my ShihTzu.  When I'm eating the eggs, he's yelling at me to share.  I like to tell him, "When I feed you your canned food, you never share with me."   Of course, I can "see" him say, 'You never said you wanted some.'  He's got a point there...!     :lol; ;)

Hi Justme, my husband has been doing CAPD and APD for nearly five years, his appitite is none existant. I dont really think it is the carrying of the fluid bag because you get use to it. My husband has to eat small and often.

I'm having the opposite issue. I'm dry during the day and it seems like I'm always hungry. I get up starving in the morning, have breakfast and an hour later I'm hungry again. So far my weight is under control, but I'm starting to worry that I'm going to gain weight and/or run out of binders if I'm not careful.

Deanne, they will giv you more binders, believe me. They send mine in a box, I take 6 with meals and 1-2 with snacks.

I'm not always ravenous, I do notice that I'm hungrier empty than when I'm full. Something about having that 2L of fluid pressing against everything I guess.

Good luck!

I usually keep Jumbo hard boiled eggs in the fridge.  When I don't feel like eating I polish off a couple of them for the protein.  I figure the is more egg white in the Jumbo, hence more protein.  Unless I get one that would have been twins if it would have hatched.... ???
