..that it was going to be a bad day.

First off, I stubbed my toe on the leg of my fan on the way out of my bedroom, while on my way to the bathroom.  On my way out of the bathroom, on my way back to the bedroom, I misjudged where the door frame was and I walked right into it, face first.  I have a nice little lump on my forehead now.

Partways thorugh my treatment, one of the clinic nurses came to see me, and told me that the doctors wanted me to wear a 24 hour blood pressure monitor.  It's not really a bad thing, but it can be a real pain in the hat.

When I got home, I fed the cat, and she was happy.  Then I decided I wanted ravioli for lunch.  I went to pull open the lid on the can, and didn't the ring on the lid pull off.  I had to pry the can open with a spoon.  It didn't help that my lack of sleep, both last night and during my treatment, and the bump on the head had left me with a nasty headache.  I ate quickly, took some tylenol, and went to bed.

I felt better after the 5 hour nap.

Don't you hate it when the day starts off like that and then just continues to get worse?  Sometimes when I start off badly, I can't get out of the funk I'm in until I go to sleep and start over.  I am having a pretty crappy day myself....literally.  Doing my prep for the dreaded colonoscopy.  I managed to get down all the disgusting liquid yuck, but am not feeling so great.  I never drink that much liquid (a gallon) in one day, much less in 3.5 hours.  Since I have had my kidneys removed, I really limit my fluids.  I don't even want to think about how much I am going to need to take off on D tomorrow.  And I am starving!  Appointment is at 11:00 tomorrow, so gonna be really hungry when I am finished with everything.  I am being a whiner, I know.  I could probably star in one of those Snicker's commercials where they make someone eat a candy bar because they turn into someone else when they're hungry  :rofl;  Hope tomorrow is a better day!

I slept about 5 hours last night too, even with the stupid blood pressure cuff on, trying to squeeze the circulation out of my hand.

I am taking more notice of where all the door frames in the house are.  My head stull hurts

10 years on and off dialysis

« Reply #5 on: August 20, 2013, 09:53:16 AM »

I opened the front door yesterday to put the milk bottles out and managed to slice open my littlest toe somehow on the corner of the door! Because I am on warfarin I bled everywhere, made a huge mess hopping about looking for plasters and it wouldn't stop...
then when I get to dialysis in the afternoon, they couldn't get any blood out of my A line and I had to have a dwell with TPA!!!
How can it pour out of my foot but not my line  :urcrazy;

I blame it on the blindness... not the pull ring coming off the can, but the other stuff.. I'm surprised that I don't have a black eye.  I smacked that door frame pretty good.

10 years on and off dialysis

« Reply #9 on: August 29, 2013, 12:18:18 PM »

Despite the fact the day started really well...my world is disintegrating around me today!

Firstly I received news that my daughter's half-brother had died (her other half brother died four years ago too) and it's her boyfriend's mums funeral tomorrow already...

Secondly a close friends dachshund (one of a pair) has been taken seriously ill and is on a drip at the vets and it's touch and go

Thirdly, I am feeding my neighbours two cats whilst they are on holiday and when I went round this afternoon, the downstairs bathroom was flooded and I had to call a plumber out!!!!

Please, no more days like this  :o
