I've been reading about this on facebook. She will definitely be in my prayers. she doesn't deserve to go through all this!! just wondering..is she getting dialysis at the hospital?
thanks for the updates!!
Some of you may already know this cuz we are friends on Facebook, but for those who aren't: My sister was admitted to the ICU July 26th due to a bacterial infection in her blood from her previous abdominal surgery. Her heart is enlarged and her blood pressure was 58/34. Normal BP is 120/80! Not good. Jennifer just can't catch a break! Please send your prayers her way please..Sooo...my sister is not doing so well. I wish I could update saying she's improving but unfortunately, no. They did an ultrasound on her stomach and found an abscess in her abdominal area where they had done surgery on her prior. When they did her surgery on her abdomen months ago what they SHOULD have done was put a draining tube in her after. But NO!Now she has to have surgery AGAIN to remove the abscess that had form due to her stomach not draining properly causing an infection and then the abscess. Shocking! I fuggin' hate Sierra View District Hospital. Everything that has happened to Jenn has been because of her surgery that they messed up on! They are looking a lawsuit. Why? Well it's absolutely disgusting that the general surgeon who screwed it up in the first place basically left her to fester and then somehow they stopped the nurse coming to visit and check on her wounds progress - which if she had still been on regular checks, this situation probably would have been avoided (let alone the months and months this has gone on for) then the insane situation where, from what Jen tells me, the other docs there wouldn't touch it because it was the work of the original general surgeon and they referred back to him.. then finally he admits he has no clue and suggests she goes to see some guy in Bakersfield, who then says he can't have her because yep it's the general surgeon's case.. They are all covering their butts because they don't want to get sued if more goes wrong... and then the general surgeon says she needs a bloody plastic surgeon to fix the wound? Dude, you have let this thing fester for months and infection was but a matter of time!!! And even if a plastic surgeon could fix it, then the last I heard prior to this was that the insurance was an issue as they may not pay (probably someone saw plastic surgeon and thought Jen wanted a boob or nose job!). I mean it's just a disgrace she was not monitored on a frequent basis, and all the BS with the general surgeron being so useless and inept in the first place but even when it turned out more was going on like all the crap on her intestines that the guy should have immediately got better treatment for her instead of letting it go and hoping for the best. Sadly though legal stuff and whatever isn't very important now when she's stuck where she is. We need to focus on getting her better but I don't see that happening here at Sierra View. We have been left in the dark the entire time she's been recently admitted. "Oh, she's been moved to another room?" Thanks for telling us. This has been our time here. I hate hospitals so much and being here at Sierra View always reminds me why. They will be hearing from our lawyer. Update to all... Dr. Dumloa has upgraded Jenn to critical. Her heart not doing well, struggling to keep b/p up and pulse way too high at 125 beats per minute. She has a major infection from the surgery site, a 6mm abcess that will be drained in the morning. A fever of 100.6 and she has not eaten since Friday. Tthere is not much to do but crochet and pray... But, I feel calm, things will get better, just a GIANT bump in the road. She was rescheduled for surgery yesterday but the doctor took a look at Jenn and instead of casuarina further damaged decided to cancel the procedure. So now they are talking about transferring her to UCLA or St. Angus so an elite team of doctor can do what's best for her. I know Jenn is a fighter and strong but she's only ever battle partineal (sp) infections before. Now she has Sespis (infection of the blood) due to the infection at the wound site from month ago when the surgeon initial messed up. It's safe to say I'm scared! Your thoughts and prays are needed at this difficult time for my family. Thank you.
