Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say hi! Even though I left The Boyfriend back in May, I still lurk around IHD and enjoy seeing how folks are doing. I'm glad to be back in California with my family and friends but still feel guilty about leaving him on his own. There have been some painful conversations but I think we both are turning a corner. He is still OCD and nitpicking himself out of much needed sleep, but he is making progress with dealing with his social worker and transplant coordinator. I used to be the "good cop" to his "bad cop" and clean up his messes but now he's learning to keep his cool and stop pissing people off all the time. The hospital has decided to let him stay on the transplant list even though there isn't a definite caregiver, so that's good news. I also think it's funny because his being such a pain in the ass is probably why they let him stay on - they know he's determined to do everything right and they trust him to speak up if anything goes wrong. I still plan to go help him when the time comes, if I can, and he has a couple friends who said they may be able to. I just hope it's soon and he doesn't drive himself insane in the meantime.....

Much love to all of you!! Be well and take care of yourselves!

You take care of yourself, too.   :grouphug;

I think it's brilliant that you're still there for him despite everything.  Lovely to hear from you ... check in often!
