Whole lotta pain

I'm having mass amounts of pain from a newly installed PD Catheter. Is there any chance the pain is from sutures holding the catheter in place on the peritoneal wall? They went in to see what was going on and it had broken free of the stitch that tacked it down so he put two seperate sutures in. Most Dr.'s in my hospital place the catheter as free flowing or in other words it is not "tacked" down with sutures.

Sorry you are having pain with your cath, they are normally tacked down it is the tubing inside  that is free flow. Some times it takes a while to calm down. Just keep your eye on things.

Those things can hurt.  Do you get blood in your drain bag?

Just had me second PD tube put in.  No pain as GratefulDad mentions.  I'm not sure what my surgeon did - IE sitiched the tube the wall or let it float.   Sorry to hear of your pain GDad.  Hope it easies up.  Grumpy

Do you have a heating pad? Put one on your belly, it might help with the pain. I had a minor GI infection (surprisingly close to the pd cath) about 2-3 weeks after my catheter was installed, and caused pain that would come and go. If that's what you have, get to an ER.

Jenna's had no sutures which the PD nurse said is the better way.
But she still hurt for over a week.
By the end of the second week she was better, but still achy.
