Musical Instuments/Whats your interest?

I play around with a Fender Stratocaster Custom guitar and a Fender deville amp.

I am not a good player but I'm trying to learn. I love music.

Anyone else have an interest in musical instruments?

Piano!  I took lessons from the ages of 3 to 21, and when I first got out of school in 1967 and came to DC, I had a second job playing at the piano bar at The Black Olive Restaurant in Georgetown.  It's now "Nathan's", and is a high-class social/political place to meet and greet, but in the old days, it was just a wonderful place for everyone to dress up and have a great night out!

Way back in the day, I tried to play guitar.  I could play some power cords and the intro to a few GnR songs but that was about it.  Today, I am still a huge fan of music.  I love what the power of a song can do for you.  I have been listening to a lot of Talking Heads lately.  This is such a "Wild Wild Life"!  Music has always helped me, by either lifting my spirits during tough times, getting aggression out when I've been angry, or just accenting my joy when "Feeling Alright". (Joe Cocker)  I believe it to be the number one medicine you can get without a perscription.

Can't play for beans!  I took piano in college, just for fun.  I wasn't very successful at learning to read music, although I could play by ear pretty well.  I got an A in the class, but the teacher graded on effort and attendance, not results!

I have an older acoustic that I had George Jones sign, I'll cherish that forever and I hope I don't ever lose that.

I tried learning classical guitar but couldn't break the bad habits of playing rock guitar, you know, thumb stuck up next to the fingerboard instead of at the back of the guitar neck. Besides that I could never grow my nails long enough on my right hand without breaking them.

In school i played the flute for a couple of years,  wouldnt know how to do it anymore that is for sure,  i would love to learn to play the piano though

Have always wanted to play guitar, and despite some lessons at age 15, I was never able to. My hands and fingers are really small, for a start. But my favourite music is metal and rock, so guitar would be great.

music has always been a major element in my life. i was playing drums at 15, and couldn't wait to quit school to go pro. i played for a living for over 35 years.  i still play hand drums, and guitar has always been a 'hobby' of mine, too.
now, my main passion is the djembe, but i also have a doumbek and bongos.
i also make some noise on the harmonica and kalimba, too.
music is the heart of my life.

a djembe is an african-style drum, played with the hands.(i have two of them.)
 a doumbek is a smaller drum that is used in belly dance. mine is a turkish design, also known as 'darbuka'.

a kalimba is the little cousin to the marimba, out of africa also, and is plucked with the thumbs. it is held like a book, sort of, and has metal reeds for the notes. it's also called the 'thumb piano' sometimes.

Thanks for your answer. I thought some of these things might be drums, but I wasn't sure.

I have a Wurlitzer Baby Grand Piano, which is at my Godmother's house while we are renovating, so have had no play for about a year or so...................... 

It soon will be back to attack though

When I was a child I played an accordion.
One son played a trombone, other a trumpet.
I do have a player piano, the foot pumping kind and lots of piano rolls.
It needs a repair right now and it is hard to find a repairman who works on
those.  I hope to get it fixed so my grandson can enjoy it.

if you can, there's a warehouse/factory in memphis that makes, or used to make player pianos. 'mason and risch' pianos. i used to work for them in toronto, they had a factory there for about 100 years, but it closed down because of the japanese yamaha pianos. i do believe the main factory in memphis remains, and they could steer you to a player-piano repairman, if they do still exist, that is...

I do have a player piano, the foot pumping kind and lots of piano rolls.

My grandmother has one, it's not a foot-pump one though. She has a cupboard absolutely full of piano rolls, also. It's very old and would no doubt require quite a bit of repair. I love that piano.
