You bad mouth my bible when you say it was written by a bunch of people gazing at the stars. It was actually written by people who were there when it happened and they are eye witnesses. As far as you being in a state of not having a conscious mind, don't you realize that you are? Don't you understand that as the toxins remain in your body you get sicker and sicker and are LESS YOURSELF?? Most people know and, so do I, that you have had more surgeries than a kid like you should have and you have been thru more than most your age. The fact that you are ill does not give you license to knock down other people beliefs and no one has the right to knock down yours. A little gentle persuasion is needed for you, and in the mean time, think about what you are saying, especially to Hemodoc. He is a tad on the gabby side, but he is a good solid Christian. Maybe if you let it sit long enough you will understand what he is trying to tell you. No "putting you down or trying to make you feel childish is intended". Oh, and BTW, I have raised 10 children, so I know what teenagers are like and I lived thru it all.

just some loonies speaking to the sky.

Giving another explanation to this so called "Christianity" thing.

Why are Christian's so damn defensive?

When you can prove the bible, I'll listen to Hemodoc. Because right now, he's just an arrogant preacher to me who wants me to follow the 'word of God'.

Not at all my young friend. My son is an agnostic but unlike some, he is open to hearing of "the hope that resides within me." I just gave him a mini sermonette on Jesus going down the road to Emmaus.  Two men were walking and pondering the events of the last three days beginning with the crucifixion of the Lord  and then that morning, His resurrection. As they were wishing to see Jesus again, Jesus approached but hid His countenance from them. Jesus asked why they were sad and they responded because of all of the events and was He the only stranger in town that did not know of them.

Here is the response from Jesus Himself:

Luke 24:25     Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26     Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27     And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

My young friend, that is indeed how I became a Christian, by reading, studying and understanding the Holy Scriptures through the study of Bible prophecy. That is indeed the proof you ask me for.  If you wish to know, God has already provided the answers in His Holy Bible and that is ONE of the many reasons Christians are offended when you denigrate His Holy word. But it is up to you to seek and look on your own. I cannot do that for you, but I can tell you where to find it just as Jesus did on the road to Emmaus.

If you are not interested, just move on my friend. No harm done. The Bible is freely given and freely received. You are free to reject it in like fashion, your choice and no one else.

I certainly do not in any manner force anything upon you or anyone else, but if ever interested, send me a pm at any time and I will gladly show you where you can find many of the answers to your questions. If not, I have offered and that is enough.

Now, if you wish to go around provoking folks for no reason, you will truly have a tough road ahead of you at your own hand. I would advise otherwise.

Nope, young man, you have the wrong preacher and the wrong book. Sorry, not Allah. I talk about the LORD God Almighty of Israel.  In any case, if you are not interested, so be it. Have a great day.

You're quite indecisive aren't you? One minute you're spewing Bible verses, the next you're finally shutting up and realizing that no one wants those blowing up here.

I'm just going to go ahead and hit the ignore button on you. That'll solve my dilemma.

I like to hear things from the Bible.  So hit ignore on me too.  Mohamed sucks so blow me up.

Although, I hit ignore on a few members just to test and I still read their posts.  The only time I don't see their posts is when I'm posting and scroll down and then it says "so and so" is ignored.

Guys!  Try and not quote absolutely everything.  We can fallow without all the blue.

Allah=God? um, no sir it does not. Is it your illness that has made you so angry at the one true God? If so, again, maybe a transplant will bring you around to being a gentler and quieter person. I know you are young, and I guess what I am trying to tell you is, don't make up your mind so early in life. You are only 16 and yes, you are smart and talented and I hope you succeed at whatever you attempt to do. No bad will is meant for you but as for Hemodoc, Rerun and I, we are older, perhaps wiser and have lived thru all of this mess. And, you have not. I know you cant see it, but we are all trying to help you not fight you.

Very true Jean, I am glad that my high school days do not speak for all in my life.  I "graduated" high school with a 1.46 GPA which folks have told me was not that great. Thankfully, college was a different story, but the folks I knew in high school were a bit, well more than a bit surprised when they found out I went on through medical school. I wasn't supposed to do that based on the way I was at 16, so yes, lot's of time to put it together even for old folks like us even. I am glad 16 does not define our lives and thank the Lord for that.

I'm sorry, but there are other religions. Other religions that believe Christianity is wrong. The term 'one true god' is repetitive across all religions. Have you ever even bothered to look up the definition of 'Allah'? It's Arabic for 'God' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allah. "Allah Akbar" is "God is Greater" or "In God we Trust".

Christianity is NOT the supreme. Stop acting like it. That is why I do not follow 'God'. I do not want to follow something that it untrue. Something I cannot hear, see, touch. You are too ignorant to see that. It has nothing to do with my diagnosis other than the fact that your 'God', if he does exist, is a sick and twisted sociopatchic bastard who in lamen's terms would be persecuted by any means. 'God' has killed millions. Satan killed 10.

I have Christian friends. But they don't follow it to a degree that means they shove it down the esophagus of the next patron. They have self control. They have faith in PRIVATE. They believe their beliefs in the comforts of their own homes and designated Churches. They don't down upon people such as Muslims, Jews, Gays, Blacks, etc. They don't undermine Science.

And they certainly don't go "Nope that's incorrect, God told me so".

Wake up and smell the reformation.

Rerun, I hope you know that I'm very fond of you but why would you want to say something like "Mohamed sucks so blow me up."  I believe that it really isn't too hard to respect others who may have faiths different than ours.  People born into Muslim cultures tend to be Muslims, in the same way that many Christians are born to parents of that faith.  Mohammed is important to Muslims as Jesus is to Christians. The Koran is central to Muslim belief as the Bible is to Christian belief.  Extremist Muslims who blow things up are not the majority and hopefully the "christians" of the Westboro Baptist Church aren't either.  I don't understand why we/you would need to be so insulting towards others.  Jesus is a respected prophet in the Koran and Christians are respected as "people of the Book".  Your disrespectful comment would not encourage fellow dialysis patients to feel comfortable here, just as ignorant comments about people who have a strong Christian faith are not particularly tolerant either.  I am left scratching my head.

Respectfully sending you a hug.

Exactly. We learned that during the Ottoman Empire, People of the Book (Christian and Jews) were not raped, pillaged and left for dead. They were allowed to work and live in the culture just as any other capture city. They didn't have to switch religions. They just had to pay a tax.

Regardless.

I go back to my statement on a previous thread.

Which religion is truth?

Christians say theirs is, Jews say theirs is, Muslims say theirs is, Atheists say theirs is.

Jean tells me I'm bitterly angry to the 'one true god' because of my disease. Who's the one true god?

Does he exist? What is he? Is it a he? Is it human?

We. Don't. Know. And. We'll. Never. Know.

So why must we have such harsh religions to label it?

I live by one rule: Live and let live.

Religion just loves to hamper that.

iKAZ3D, "Live and let live" is easier said than done.  Most young people I've encountered truly cannot live by those words because the opinion of their peers is so important to them.  Most people like to have rules and guidelines, otherwise there'd be chaos.  If you really believed in the concept of "live and let live", you wouldn't have been so offended by either Jesse or Hemodoc.

For many people, their faith helps to give their lives some modicum of order.

In your own life, what gives you peace, comfort and order?

A) I didn't get offended by Jesse, he got offended by me.
B) Live and let live implies you live and let live by using rules and guidelines...to live...and let live. -.-
C) What gives me peace? No religious influence. If religion was gone, the world would probably be as serene as can be.

To live and let live.  I get the sense that a person who understands this bit of philosophy, and is able to put it in practice, is a rare bird.  Live and let live types can be passionate about the plight of their fellow man (female inclusive) although they are unlikely to focus on a single issue.  There are people here that I would count as that type of person.  “iKAZ3D” I would drop this thread if I were you, or get back to the original thought behind this thread before you hijacked it.

MooseMom is my mommy.

EXCUSE ME? I created the thread! This is the most ignorant, outlandish, jackass response I've ever heard. Why in the hell am I in quotes? Am I not worthy or real? You've obviously picked up on my putting "God" in quotes as a signal of his non-proven existence.

And if MooseMom is your 'mommy', than maybe she can cradle you while you stick your thumb in your mouth.

Hijacked my ass.

The duck, man. -.-

Kid;

You don't own anything here.  That you started a thread does not grant you literary license to pursue any topic that comes to mind, nor does it give you any other privilege.  I like MooseMom.  Now say a prayer to your God and he/she will dash the hopes your opposition.
