I'm on home HD with NxStage/Davita.
I may be moving (due to job) to area that is served by both Davita (my current clinic) and Fresenius.

Anybody have thoughts on differences between their policies regarding home HD?   I realize that government guidelines will result in a lot of things being exactly the same, just asking if anybody has thoughts on this.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dannyboy, we were RAI and reciently bought out by Fresenius.  I worried some, but so far, all seems to be the same.  It 'seems' that 'area' where you are determines some of their 'rules'.  Best of luck and hope someone in your area has more imput...  :flower;

Never had the DaVita experience.  Just Frescenius as far as NxStage.  Other than a few little hiccups, Fresenius here has been fine with us. We never had problems with delivery or anything (knock on wood).

God Bless,

Fresenius just bought out my independent dialysis center. So far, I haven't seen any change in administration or care. I hear grumbling a bit from the staff, but I just write that off to corporate changes.

I have been with Fresenius for 4.5 years and I love all of the nurses, doctors, drivers and support.  I have never been w Davita but my mother in law was and I heard some real horrible stories.

Dannyboy,
Hi there! I do home hemo through Davita currently and use the NxStage. I think if you were to switch to a Fresenius that the home dialysis machine is way different then the NxStage. You will have to set up special plumbing in your house and put in a water purifier. The Fresenius machine is very big and not compact like the one Davita can offer you. And you would not be able to travel with it. I am pretty sure that Davita and NxStage partnered up together so I don't think fresenius can offer the NxStage machine.
All the best,
Brielle

This is BAD information. With Fresenius you get options. You can use their stationary machine OR NxStage.

Not every Fresenius clinic offers NxStage.  Mine didn't, they only offered the BabyK.  They did offer NxStage at a clinic that was quite a few miles away so I chose to switch to DaVita, which was much more convenient, when I switched to NxStage.
