Hello My name is Norma and I was diagnosed November 17th 2009, with SLE, whiched caused me to get renal failure, raynauds' and pulmonary hypertension. I was in the hospital for three and a half weeks and spent the past two years trying to be somewhat normal. It has been a rollercoaster ride. In and out of the hospital, tests galore, all types of specialist. I Started out doing hemo with a shyley in my groin, that came out just before my release from the hospital, when they put a catheter in my chest. I had that for about six months, when I decided to do PD, did that for about ten months, when I went into the hospital and found out my catheter grew into my fallopian tube and was leaking out of my vagina. So back to the chest catheter  for about four months, then I had a graft put in. This is where I am at today, graft in arm and hemo in center. Trying to deal with my new way of life, but with no support from family and friends, besides my wonderful 18 year old daughter, it is extremely hard. I posted this because I wasn't sure if I introduced myself or not, if I did, sorry for the repeat. Nice to be here, reading what others are going through, I know I am not alone.

You did introduce yourself before, Norma.   But welcome back!  It sounds as if you have a lot on your plate.  Hope it sorts itself out soon.     :welcomesign;

haha... ps, just 'connected at your "name"... i have a 'thing' for dragonflys :)  Or they do me :)  My family has always laughed at the fact that when we're out in ANY water place, the dragonflys find me and want to sit with me...  Just a little funny thing i'd almost forgot  ;D

They always come around me also. When my Dad was dying I read him the Dragonfly Story, after he passed his ceiling fan cast a shadow of a dragonfly and after that they were always around. I have actually started a collection. I have even made large ones to hang on my wall.
